Avon Notices…

VBS Early Registration - begins next Sunday. Our Vacation Bible School is for children entering JK to Grade 6, August 10-14, from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Let us know if you are coming, and pick up some invitations to give to your friends.

YOUTH…Wednesday, 7-9pm; Band practice followed by Focus and snack. Bring your music binders!
Celebration!! Come celebrate the marriage of Richard and Amanda Martin on Saturday, June 13 from 2:30 – 5pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. This is a family event: kids celebrate with Kylee and Payton; adults with Richard and Amanda. Bless them by contributing to the Gift Bag by the Servery.

Everyone is welcome to celebrate with Howard Lebold on his 75th birthday at an Open House TODAY from 1:30-4:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at Avon.

Care Groups. In your mailbox today are the care group descriptions for 2009-2010. Please identify two choices on the form attached and place in the PCC mailbox by June 21.

Our final Men’s Fellowship Breakfast before the summer break will be held at Earl Martin’s farm on Saturday, June 13, 2009. beginning at 8:30AM. We’d like everyone to bring a son (or friend) if possible. This will also likely be Steve’s final breakfast with us before he moves north.

Please pray that Hinke Loewen-Rudgers will develop a solid Arabic vocabulary and a sense of confidence in speaking and understanding Arabic as she continues Arabic language study in Amman, Jordan.

God’s Story, Our Story. A 10 session faith exploration class/Bible study, Thursdays from 7:00 - 8:30pm beginning June 4th. If you would like to join in this introduction to the Christian faith from an Anabaptist perspective, please contact Janine Voort (519-272-0178).

Women of Avon Year-End-Event. Creative Card Making Workshop with Karan Gerber, June 20, 1:00pm in the M-P Room. Cost: $5 per person. Sign up by June 14 on the Women’s bulletin board.

Church Periodicals (Fall 2009 to 2010): A variety of periodicals, devotionals and weekly papers for all ages are made available by the church to families wishing to receive them. A sign up sheet and complete details are posted beside the Youth Room.

Opportunities in the Community…

Habitat for Humanity Stratford-Perth is doing a build in Stratford. They are looking for volunteers for construction and to serve lunches. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a local service project. Contact Randy Lebold if you are interested or if you would like more information.
