Avon Notices…
Baptism Service will be held on June 14, with testimonies in the morning, and baptism at Hidden Acres starting a 4pm, followed by communion and a pot-luck.
Covenanting Follow-up. Covenant signing forms are available in the Pastoral Care Commission mailbox for those not yet re-covenanted, but would like to do so.
YOUTH…Wednesday, 7-9pm; Band practice followed by Focus and snack. Bring your music binders!
Morning Prayer Group for those who would like to spend an hour in prayer before heading off to work. Everyone is welcome to join us in the foyer on Thursday mornings from 6:30-7:30am, coffee, juice and muffins provided.
Vacation Bible School volunteers needed for all areas. To sign up or find out more, talk to Dave, Mark or Rachelle at the sign-up table. VBS takes place August 10-14, from 6:00-8:30pm. Early registration begins in June.

Leadership Retreat is wrapping up this morning. Please pray for a joyful close to a fruitful weekend, and a safe journey home.
Please pray that workers in Southeast Asia will be refreshed and equipped for continuing service following a retreat for the mission workers in Thailand Apr 29-May3. These workers gathered with workers from other agencies including MCC, Mission Network & Brethren in Christ. Workers included Dawn & Joji Pantoja (Philippines) the Buhler and Veith families (Macau) and Pat & Rad Houmphan (Thailand.)

Jewels Breakfast Gathering- Saturday, June 6th, for 9 a.m. at Angie’s Kitchen, St. Agatha.
Celebration!! Come celebrate the marriage of Richard and Amanda Martin on Saturday, June 13 from 2:30 – 5 in the Multi-Purpose Room. This is a family event: kids celebrate with Kylee and Payton; adults with Richard and Amanda. Bless them by contributing to the Gift Bag by the Servery.

Church Periodicals (Fall 2009 to 2010): A variety of periodicals, devotionals and weekly papers for all ages are made available by the church to families wishing to receive them. A sign up sheet and complete details are posted beside the Youth Room.
Avon Church’s participation in the Mennonite Relief Sale is manning the Vegetarian Café. Everyone is invited and needed to help. This event can be used for the Volunteer Community Service Hours. Call Grace Plett (519-271-8268) or Bernice Barratt (519-273-2955) to volunteer.

A Night of Diverse Music and Worship, May 24, 7:00pm at East Zorra Mennonite Church. A freewill offering will be taken, half to support the Youth attending the Mennonite Youth Convention and half to the compassion fund.

Opportunities in the Community…
Stratford-Perth Habitat for Humanity expects to begin a build on Hyde Rd., Stratford in May. Volunteer builders, lunch providers, and fundraisers are needed. Donations are also gratefully received with 100% of funds going to the building. Volunteer forms are posted beside the Youth Rm.
