Avon Notices…
During the summer months…
Displaying announcements: Fred Zehr has agreed to be the contact person for getting announcements onto the computer in the auditorium to be displayed on the screen during worship services. If you have an announcement you wish to be included, please phone 625-1180 or preferably email your notice to Fred at <f6251180@golden.net> by Friday night. Of course, you’re encouraged to continue putting announcements in our weekly take-home bulletin, via the church office as always.
Care Groups are reforming for the Fall. Descriptions and response forms were placed in your mailbox last Sunday, (extra forms below). Please submit your completed form to the Pastoral Care Commission mailbox or email your response to office@avonmennonite.ca by Sunday, July 27.

My family and I would like to thank Avon for being such a supportive church during our years with this congregation. My family has decided to worship at a church in our Embro community which is only five minutes away. Thanks for all your support. Christine, Hannah, and Seth Ritsma
Please pray for The Internat’l Witness workers who are taking part in this year’s Mission Seminar, July 19-25, where they will be participating in orientation, debriefing, fellowship and worship together.

Leadership Team Announcement: Notice of a Congregational Meeting, August 17 at 7:30 pm, to consider approving hiring an Associate Pastor. Leadership Team is seeking congregational approval to hire a half time Associate Pastor with primary responsibilities in youth and children’s Christian Education as per the job description placed in your mailbox today (extras below). This will be a salaried position based on MCEC’s guidelines.

Ontario Mennonite Music Camp - August 10 to 22:
Boys & girls aged 12-16 with a love for music are invited to attend 12 fun-filled days of music camp at Conrad Grebel College, Waterloo. Accommodation, meals, music instruction and recreational activities are included. Young people with all levels of musical ability are welcome. Brochures with application forms are posted beside the Youth Room.
Volunteers Needed for Disability Retreat. The Building Community Retreat at Hidden Acres (Sept. 5 - 7) provides individuals, their families and supporters with an enjoyable weekend to encounter the goodness of God. Volunteers are needed in several areas. For detailed info, please see the poster beside the Youth Room.

Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS). Booking for short term volunteering (1-3 weeks) this fall (Oct-Dec) begins August 6. Call 1-800-241-8111 to schedule a week or two with MDS this fall.
