In addition to our regular monthly expenses of $12,000(-/+), Avon  has a total of $42,275 in committed expenses to the end of the year, including  to: local missions agencies, Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Church  Eastern Canada (which includes our support for Mennonite Church Canada), and  debt reduction.</font></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><font size="3"><strong>Let&#8217;s make a generous  statement that we love our neighbours in Pakistan.</strong> On Sep 5, Avon will  take a special offering for those devastated by catastrophic flooding in  Pakistan. Funds will be forwarded to MCC who in turn will forward them to  trusted and experienced agencies who are already working there (MCC does not  have its own staff in Pakistan). This offering is eligible for our government&#8217;s  matching funds until September 12th.</font></font></p>

<p><strong> </strong>Reaching Out to  Pakistan. Mennonite Central Committee is appealing for donations towards the  flooding in Pakistan. Donations can be made online at <a href="http://mcc.org/">mcc.org</a> or by calling 1-800-313-6226.  Designate cheques to Pakistan Flood Relief and mail to 50 Kent Ave., Kitchener  ON N2G 3R1 or drop off at the nearest MCC Thrift Shop.</p>
<p><strong>Mennonite  Disaster Services</strong>. Fall projects are currently being planned and will  begin in October. Short-term volunteers will be scheduled starting in August. If  you are interested in volunteering please call  (866)261-1274.</p>
<p><strong>Friesen Family Band will be in concert at St.  Jacobs Mennonite Church</strong> on Aug 22 at 7pm. Free admission; an offering  will be taken. The music is appealing to all ages.</p>
<p><strong>Five on the  Floor is giving a farewell concert</strong> at St. Jacob&#8217;s Church Theatre, Aug  26 at 7:30pm. This is a fundraising event for the Toronto Mennonite Theological  Centre.
