Christian Education Hour
All Christian Ed classes have ended for the Summer.
Classes will resume September 12th.
The Adult class will meet with Ryan Erb in the Meeting Rooms.

Please pray for the 50+ student leaders from Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, who are on a retreat, preparing for their leadership roles in the coming school year.

Financial update to August 31, 2010:
Budget to date: $143,753
Offerings to date: $117,854 (82% of budget)
In addition to our regular monthly expenses of $12,000(-/+), Avon has a total of $42,275 in committed expenses to the end of the year, including to: local missions agencies, Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (which includes our support for Mennonite Church Canada), and debt reduction.
Women of Avon. How to Enhance Your Nutrition by eating something as healthy and delicious as chocolate! Come and hear Linda and Chris discuss this topic on Wed., Sep 8, 7pm at the church.
ATTENTION JEWELS. The date for lunch and the matinee at Walters Theatre has been changed from Sept. 9 to Friday, Sept. 17. We are to be there at 11:30am to 12:00 noon. Payment is due to Florence.
Men’s Fellowship will meet for breakfast at the Arden Park on Saturday, Sept 11 at 8:30am. There’s lots of room, the food is always great, and it is liberally mixed with great conversation - a wonderful combination! Join us on the “Porch” off the dining room. Let’s make a generous statement that we love our neighbours in Pakistan. On Sep 5, Avon will take a special offering for those devastated by catastrophic flooding in Pakistan. Funds will be forwarded to MCC who in turn will forward them to trusted and experienced agencies who are already working there (MCC does not have its own staff in Pakistan). This offering is eligible for our government’s matching funds until September 12th.
